If you do not hold a passport from a European Economic Area country

The
Tube (London Underground) is the easiest way to get about town,
particularly in central London. London transport also operates buses

1234 for your most direct route. You will be able to obtain tube
maps from all tube stations.
Medical
If you will be living and working in London you will be entitled
to receive free medical care from your local doctor (your GP.) When
you arrive you must register immediately with a GP (lists are available
from your local library. In order to work in dentistry it is essential
that you are immunised against Hepatitis B. Please
bring your vaccination evidence, plus blood test print outs of your
antibody levels with you to the UK. If you do not have them you
will be able to arrange for a blood test or for the vaccinations
to be done at your GP.
Clothes
It is important that you always wear a clean and smart clothes,
in order for you to appear presentable to the dental practice and
its patients. We recommend that you wear suit with a shirt and tie
for men and a skirt or trouser with a smart jacket or blouse for
ladies.
Accommodation
Where are you going to live? It is really a matter of personal choice.

Bank
Account
Please make sure that you bring with you a recent bank statement
or a reference letter from your bank. Once you have a regular mailing
address and proof of earnings in the UK you can open an account
at any of the High St banks Llyods TSB,
HSBC, NatWest
or Barclays. Otherwise there
are many other smaller banks you will find when you get here. We
will be able to give you a reference letter to take to the bank
once you have registered at United Dentacare, which is the trading
entity of United Medicare Limited.
National
Insurance Number
Once you have started working, you will need to make an appointment
at your local Department of social security (DSS) office to obtain
an NI number. You can start working before you have been issued
